Nitro Crossing

A spliced loop rope swing is suspended from a cable between a small platform and the starting point.
The basic problem is to obtain the rope using only the resources found within the group and then get the whole group across the area between the starting point and the platform, without touching the ground, and onto the platform.
There are different variations to this activity that can be implemented depending on the group requirements.

Spider's Web

The Spider's Web consists of a prefabricated web strung between two posts 3-4 metres apart made up of 10-15 open web sections.
The task is to pass each member of the group through a separate web opening without letting any part of their body touch the web.  Once a member uses an opening, that section is closed to further passage.  If a participant touches the web during the process, the person being passed must return to the beginning side and the section they went through remains closed.
This is another activity specifically designed to encourage the development of key life skills such as teamwork, communication and leadership among the group.

The aim is to traverse as far along the taut foot cable as possible without falling off.
Spotters are encouraged to stand either side of the participant for safety support.
